Privacy Policy

This policy covers both the Finally Read app and this website. The short version: your reading stays yours. There are no accounts, no ads, and we never sell data. The only personal information we collect is an email address, and only if you choose to give us one.

Your reading data

Everything you save in the app (links, articles, tags, lists, and reading progress) is stored on your device and synced through your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit private database. It is tied to your Apple Account, and we cannot read it.

AI summaries

Summaries are generated entirely on your device using Apple's on-device models. The content you read is never sent to us or to any AI service.

Fetching articles

When you save a link, the app downloads that page directly from the original website, the same as a browser would. That request goes to the site you saved, not through our servers.

Crash reports

If the app crashes or hits an error, a technical report (device model, OS version, and what the code was doing) is sent to Sentry so we can fix it. These reports do not include the content of what you read.

Usage analytics

The app sends anonymized usage signals (for example, "an article was saved") to TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service. Signals are not tied to your identity and are never used for advertising or tracking across apps.

Purchases

Subscriptions are handled by Apple. Receipt information is validated with RevenueCat to unlock your purchase. This does not include your name, email, or payment details.

Email signups on this website

If you sign up on our homepage, we collect the email address you enter. That's it. We don't ask for your name, and we don't track you with advertising cookies. We use it for one purpose: to send you occasional updates about Finally Read, including launch news and early TestFlight invites. We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties for their own marketing.

We manage our email list with Kit (formerly ConvertKit), a third-party email service. Your email address is stored on their servers and processed according to their privacy policy. We only keep your address for as long as you stay subscribed.

Unsubscribing

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. Click it and you'll be removed from the list right away. You can also email us (below) and ask to be removed, and we'll take care of it.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to tell you what data we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK) or CCPA (California). To exercise any of these, just contact us.
